Two women face drug and child endangerment charges after California police stopped the vehicle they were in Friday and found heroin, drug paraphernalia and a baby needing attention.
Amber S. Carlton, 24, of Charleroi, and Arrielle Rivera, 36, of Richeyville, were stopped along Malden Drive, in California, after they were observed riding around and idling for more than 40 minutes with Carlton’s 1-year-old daughter in the vehicle, police said. The report said the child was in need of attention, but did not provide additional information.
The women and the child were taken to California’s police station, where the child was given a new outfit and diapers before Washington County Children and Youth Services placed the child in a foster home.
Both women were released. Charges are pending.
