Vehicle flips: John Conley, 42, of Bidwell, Ohio, escaped serious injury Monday when his vehicle hit a patch of ice on Interstate 79 near the Laboratory exit, Amwell, went into the median and flipped on its roof, state police said. The vehicle then spun around and landed on its wheels.

Vehicle catches fire: Scott P. McVay of Washington escaped injury Wednesday night when his vehicle caught fire on Interstate 70 west near the Taylorstown exit, Buffalo, state police said. Firefighters from Taylorstown and Claysville responded to the fire.

Credit card used: A librarian at Frank Sarris Library, 35 N. Jefferson Ave., told Canonsburg police information from the library’s credit card was used to make a $180 purchase.

DUI charge: Janna Marie Slagle, 22, of 134 Bench Ave., Canton, was charged Wednesday by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and careless driving. She was clocked by state police going 60 mph in a 35 mph zone on Jefferson Avenue near Paul Street, Canton, Nov. 8. Her blood-alcohol content was more than double the 0.08 limit presumed for intoxication. Charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Street fight: Rashaun Smith, 20, of 656 McKean Ave., Donora, and Lester McGriff, 19, of 117 Locust Road, Coal Center, are each charged by borough police with rioting, flight, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, court records state. They are accused of participating in a fight involving six males about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday. Both men were sent to Washington County jail on $10,000 bonds set by District Judge Mark Wilson. McGriff since posted his bond.

Drug charges: Donna Jean Duritza, 51, of 423 Estate Lane, Washington, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge David Mark on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of paraphernalia after she was found with suspected marijuana in her vehicle while she was parked at the Houston Park and Ride Dec. 27. State police stopped to check on her welfare after spotting her vehicle with the headlights on in the lot. District Judge David Mark released her on her own recognizance.

Hit-and-run crash: Benjamin B. Bowman, 22, of 107 Fannie St., McDonald, will be charged by McDonald police with driving under suspension, not having insurance and inspection and leaving the scene of a crash stemming from a hit-and-run crash early Tuesday on Arabella Street.
