A 16-year-old Washington girl walking in the 1000 block of Allison Avenue about 8:25 a.m. Wednesday told city police a man in a pickup truck stopped next to her and pointed a gun at her.
City police met with the girl in the principal’s office at the Intermediate Unit 1 Campus at Clark alternative school. She was visibly upset and shaken as she told them she just passed the Dairy Queen when she noticed a slow-moving vehicle in the middle of the block between the school and East Wylie Avenue.
The girl told police the pickup truck stopped next to her. A man with his face covered rolled down the window and pointed a black pistol at her. He called her by name and told her if she came near him again, he would shoot her. She told police she recognized the voice but did not know the man’s identity. She said the older-model truck was gray with a black bumper.
She told police she thought he could be someone her grandmother had a protection-from-abuse order against but police could not find a record of any PFA order.
