Task force seizes 65 bricks of heroin; Clairton man jailed
A Clairton man was arrested and charged Saturday after police determined he was trafficking heroin and other drugs into McDonald and Cecil Township.
Robert W. Scott, 62, was stopped while driving in the county, and police discovered 65 bricks of heroin, cocaine, cutting agents for cocaine and additional drug paraphernalia. The seized narcotics have an estimated street value of more than $30,000.
Information obtained during an investigation indicated Scott would be in the area and would be driving a black Kia SUV.
Scott was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of heroin and cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to Washington County jail, arraigned by District Judge Mark Wilson and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force was assisted by Cecil Township and McDonald police departments and state police.
District Attorney Gene Vittone said Scott’s arrest was important for the area.
“We recently have had problems with heroin in the McDonald/Cecil area and to get this large of an amount of heroin off the street is a huge accomplishment,” Vittone said.
