Craig S. Church
Craig S. Church, 61, of Waynesburg, died Monday, January 28, 2013, in his home.
He was born December 1, 1951, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Francine and Ralph Horn and Franklin Church.
Mr. Church was a graduate of Penn State, where he earned his architectural license and a bachelor’s degree in structural and civil engineering. He later taught at Penn State Fayette.
He owned and operated C.S. Church and Associates in Peters Township, working as a licensed architect and registered civil and structural engineer.
Mr. Church was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lippencott. He was a past master of Waynesburg Lodge 153 Free and Accepted Masons, a member of the Scottish Rite bodies in the Valley of Pittsburgh and Syria Temple AAONOMS in Pittsburgh, where he served on the ritualistic team. He also was a member of the Engineer’s Society in Pittsburgh and Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy E. Stockdale Church, whom he married September 15, 1972; two daughters, Heather N. Collins (Chris) of Ross Township and Jennifer Taylor (Chris) of Mather; a son, Kelby R. Church (Jennifer) of Morgantown, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Jessica and Sidney Spence, Gabriella and Serenity Taylor and Kaylee and Nicholas “Nick” Collins; and a brother, Fred Church of Ohio.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the time of service, Thursday, January 31, in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, with the Rev. Nick Bardo and the Rev. David Earnest officiating. Burial will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township. Waynesburg Lodge 153 F&AM will hold services at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com.
