South Strabane Township police have identified the victim of a suspected assault inside a North Main Street home.

Frank Murphy Jr. was found about 4:30 p.m. inside his home at 1737 N. Main St., said township police Detective Ken Torboli. Murphy was unresponsive and had severe head and facial injuries. Torboli said he was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital. No information was available on his condition, police said.

Members of Murphy’s family found him inside the home.

Torboli said the investigation into what caused his injuries is continuing.

Detective Mike Schidlmeier said Friday that police do not believe the public is in danger and that if the victim was assaulted, he was likely the target.
