CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) – Two people have been convicted for their roles in a Philadelphia-to-Morgantown drug distribution ring.
Thirty-two-year-old Juwan Robert Woods of Philadelphia and 23-year-old Tara Dustin of Morgantown entered guilty pleas to drug-related charges Thursday in federal court in Clarksburg.
U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld says Woods helped organize the operation designed to bring large quantities of heroin and prescription painkillers for redistribution and sale.
Ihlenfeld says Woods faces up to 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine at sentencing for selling oxycodone near a Morgantown playground last May, while Dustin faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine for selling oxycodone in Monongalia County.
Nineteen others were indicted on charges related to the distribution ring last November.
