Marine Corps 2nd Lt. Andrew McCormick, son of Dr. William and Ann McCormick of Washington, graduated from Marine Officer Candidates School at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Quantico, Va. His platoon won the Field Day and Pugil Sticks competitions and the Royal Marine Trophy for Physical Fitness. In recognition of his academic, physical fitness and leadership grade percentage performance, McCormick served as the Batallion S2 chief for the graduation ceremony. He is a 2009 graduate of Washington High School and a 2013 graduate of Colgate University. He will attend the Basic School before completing his training as a Naval aviator.
