Learning landforms Third grade students in Tammy Williams’ room at Washington Elementary School in the Bethel Park School District are studying landforms in their social studies classes and are making connections between the geographic areas and the types of jobs people who live there can do. For example, people who live in the mountains could be forest rangers; and people who live on islands could be tour guides. The students were assigned a specific landform and created a mural and used recycled packing paper to create their murals. Williams’ students are very environmentally-conscious, recycling paper, plastic, cans and boxes to help preserve the environment. Working on their mural of mountains and forest rangers are from left: Dylan Schmude and Matt Lucido.
