PITTSBURGH (AP) — A high school teacher who allegedly identified a student who accused another teacher of a sex crime by pointing at her in front of her classmates was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on witness intimidation charges.

Police say 40-year-old Plum High School teacher Drew Zoldak last month told his class he missed school so he could be interviewed by detectives, then referred to the female student and said that was “because of her.”

Zoldak’s defense attorney didn’t immediately return a call to his cellphone in advance of Wednesday’s hearing. A judge must decide whether there’s enough evidence for Zoldak to stand trial.

Two other male teachers at the high school are facing charges that each had sex with a different female student — including the one Zoldak is accused of trying to intimidate.
