Handgun taken: Richard Kotar Jr. of 136 Locust Street, Muse, told police May 6 a 9 mm Kel-Tec P-11 handgun was taken from the door pocket of his truck. The theft remains under investigation.

Safe, bag found: Chartiers police are looking for the owner of a safe and black duffel bag found Thursday off Racetrack Road between the railroad tracks and BP station. The black Coronado duffel bag contained a Kenneth Cole ladies wallet, one black winter glove and a pair of Vans shoes. The black and silver safe is 14-inches wide and 10-inches tall. Anyone with information about the owner is asked to call police at 724-745-8030, ext. 215.

Two injured: Wilbert Hoff, 60, of Valley View Terrace, Canonsburg, and his passenger, Stacy Loftin, 46, of North Main Street, Chartiers, were injured Tuesday afternoon when their vehicle was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Heidi McConnell, 44, of East Maiden Street, Washington, in front of Loftin’s home. Police said McConnell told them she was going south, putting on sunglasses, when she hit Hoff’s vehicle. He was stopped along the shoulder picking up Loftin, using his emergency flashers. The impact pushed Hoff’s vehicle over the curb and into a utility pole, snapping the pole in half. Hoff and Loftin were taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.

Drunkenness charge: Fawn Ferrera, 43, of 103 W. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, was charged by McDonald police with public drunkenness after police received a report she was lying in the middle of South McDonald Street about 7 p.m. Tuesday. Police said they arrived to find her in the street with her belongings scattered. She also had a six-pack of beer, police said. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.

Man robbed: Christopher Grimm, 24, of West Alexander, told Washington police he was robbed of his wallet containing $130 and identification by three men, including one who had a knife. The incident happened about 8 p.m. Thursday in the 10 block of West Railroad Street.

Harassment charge: Timothy Cumer, 59, of 395 Donnan Ave., Washington, will be charged with harassment after he allegedly sent obscene and threatening text messages to Tracy McElhone of Washington Wednesday.
