Two fires destroyed a Greene Township residence and left two adults and a child homeless over the weekend, American Red Cross officials said.

Red Cross spokesman Kevin Brown said the organization is caring for the family following the second fire Saturday at 300 Greene Lakes Road.

The first fire took place Friday afternoon, which later rekindled Saturday, Brown said. The family was not able to return to the residence.

The American Red Cross was called out after the second fire and is assisting the family with food, clothing, lodging and transportation.

Firefighters from Bobtown and Greensboro could not be reached for comment.
