Society to hold annual Slovenefest

The Slovene National Benefit Society will host its 34th annual Slovenefest from noon to midnight Friday through Sunday at the SNPJ Recreation Center, 270 Martin Road, Enon Valley.
The festival will feature more than 20 Slovenian polka bands and button-box accordion clubs at five indoor/outdoor venues. Slovenian sausage, barbecued lamb and pork and other festival foods will be available, accompanied by Slovenian beer and wines and other beverages. There also will be an extensive display of folk attire, crafts and household items in the SNPJ Slovenian Heritage Center museum. There is an Olympic-size pool, and there will be fishing in the SNPJ Recreation Center lake, miniature golf, a trackless train, playground equipment and other organized activities. A fireworks display is scheduled Saturday night, weather permitting.
