McDONALD Man arrested: Robert Kelly, 50, of 71 Belgium Hollow Road, McDonald, was arrested Sunday by McDonald police for allegedly violating a protection-from-abuse order obtained by his wife, Cathy Kelly. He is accused of threatening to set their home on fire. He also allegedly sent her text messages. He was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson and placed in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

PETERS Burglary: A resident of the 100 block of Sunset Lane, McMurray, reported a jewelry box and its contents and a few bottles of liquor were stolen, township police said. The burglary was reported at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday. There are no signs of forced entry. The missing jewelry, including two watches and a gold chain, is valued at $3,700, police said.

ROBINSON Jewelry, cash stolen: Barbara Gedman of 770 Beagle Club Road, Robinson, told McDonald police last week that $720 and jewelry valued at $7,635 were stolen from her home. Police have a suspect and charges are pending.

Teen injured: James Green, 17, of Bridgeville, was slightly injured Monday afternoon when his car crashed on Robinson Highway near Beech Hollow Road, Robinson, McDonald police said. The teen told police he was being tailgated. When he turned left onto Beech Hollow, he turned too wide. His car went over a guard rail and down an embankment, coming to rest on its roof. He was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment of a hand injury.

SOUTH STRABANE Wallet stolen: Sarah Pfeifer of Fredricktown told South Strabane police Tueday her wallet and cellphone were stolen from her vehicle in the lot at Tanger Outlets. She accidentally left the vehicle unlocked while she was working at one of the stores.

Cellphone, knives stolen: Douglas Brock of 675 Floral Hill Drive, told South Strabane police Wednesday his cellphone and two Leatherman knives were stolen from his unlocked vehicle parked near his home.

WASHINGTON Purse stolen: Alyssa Shemasek of 159 Ernest Ave., Monongahela, told police her purse was stolen after she left Citizens Library at 55 S. College St. Tuesday. The purse contained $110 in cash, a $600 bracelet and a $300 digital camera.

Access device fraud: Yevette Brown of 175 Brookside Ave. told police Tuesday $1,800 was stolen from her bank account by using her debit card.

Criminal mischief: A car belonging to Sally Scheidt, of 405 N. Wade Ave., was vandalized while it was parked Tuesday in the lower lot of the Observer-Reporter, 122 S. Main St., Washington police said. The trunk lid and hood were scratched and the front bumper was cracked.

Retail theft charge: Michael Anthony Huff, 24, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, was arrested Wednesday by South Strabane police for allegedly stealing a shirt from Gabriel Brothers, Northgate Plaza. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on a misdemeanor charge of retail theft and placed in the Washington County jail on $500 bond.

Woman detained: Maggie Anne Brown, 30, of 375 Locust Ave., Washington, is being held in the Washington County jail without bond awaiting extradition to Belmont County, Ohio, where she is wanted for failing to show proof she performed 45 days of community service, court records show. City police apprehended her about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday at 175 W. Beau St., the affidavit indicates.
