State police said that an argument between two men over a washing machine at a Canton Township home Saturday night apparently led to a shooting that injured one of the men. The other man was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault.

When state police arrived at the home at 20 Hilltop Lane after getting the 7:25 p.m. call, Michael Suehr, 57, of Pittsburgh, was standing in the driveway with his hands up. He told troopers that he had a gun in his pocket.

Suehr reportedly admitted to shooting John Dingle Jr., 47, in the stomach. Dingle was found lying on the basement floor. Dingle said that he and Suehr, who he identified as his mother’s boyfriend, had gotten into an argument when Suehr reportedly pulled out a gun and shot him.

Dingle was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital and was released Sunday, police said. Suehr was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and released from Washington County Jail after posting $50,000 bond. Suehr is scheduled for an Aug. 19 preliminary hearing before District Judge David Mark.
