Greenbrier, 8 unions reach agreement

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) – The Greenbrier and eight unions representing more than 1,100 workers have signed a five-year agreement.
The White Sulphur Springs resort announced what it called an historic collective bargaining agreement late Friday. Owner Jim Justice says the agreement is an important milestone for the sprawling, high-end resort.
Resort management says the agreement was unanimously endorsed by union leadership and ratified by rank-and-file.
Justice bought The Greenbrier out of bankruptcy in 2009 for $20.1 million. He also rescued the Wintergreen Resort in Virginia’s Nelson County.
