Boys soccer: Goal from 50 yards gives Trinity dramatic win

Noah Lazek sent a goal home on a 50-yard free kick with 15 seconds to play Saturday to give Trinity a dramatic 1-0 victory over Moon in a non-section match.

Ben Johnson stopped 17 shots for Trinity (1-0-1). Moon fell to 1-2-1.

• Four different players scored to lead South Fayette over McGuffey, 4-1, in a non-section match.

Zach Lutz, Colin Martincic, Nick Aul and Christian Dedi had goals for the Lions (4-1). Aaron Harris scored for the Highlanders (2-3).

• Michael Peters scored two goals in the game’s first five minutes and North Allegheny held on for a 2-1 victory over host Peters Township in a non-section match.

Rex Heuler scored his third goal of the season for PT (2-1-1) but the Indians were unable to produce a tying score.

North Allegheny is 3-1.

• Matt Young scored two goals to help Serra Catholic earn its first win of the season, 4-2, over visiting Bentworth in a non-section match.

Darius Hays and Blaine Fowler each scored a goal for Bentworth, which fell to 2-2-1. Serra is 1-0-1.
