In Pittsburgh, Andreas Athanasiov scored two goals and Petr Mrazek made 36 saves in the Detroit Red Wings’ 7-2 victory over the Penguins.

Athanasiov, Dylan Larkin and Brendan Smith scored first-period goals, Riley Sheahan and Justin Abdelkader connected in the second, and Athanasiov and Anthony Mantha in the third.

Daniel Sprong and Beau Bennett scored for Pittsburgh.

Jeff Zatkoff allowed all seven Detroit goals on 22 shots.

It was the second game in as many days for Pittsburgh.
