GREENSBURG (AP) – A coroner plans to announce the results of an inquest into the death of a stabbing suspect who was shot when state and local police responded to a slaying at a Western Pennsylvania apartment complex.

Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha says he’ll announce Wednesday the results of the inquest into the death of 41-year-old Rodney Golden, of Greensburg.

Golden was fatally shot during an altercation with state police and three local departments at Hempfield Towers on Jan. 19, 2014.

That’s when police say Golden slit the throat of 56-year-old resident Anita Sobel at the apartment complex for seniors and the disabled about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh.

State police have said one trooper fatally shot the knife-wielding Golden after police couldn’t subdue him with stun guns.

Bacha held the inquest in July.
