Suspect wanted in Monongahela home invasion caught
The Donora man wanted in connection with an Oct. 9 home invasion at a Monongahela residence was caught early Tuesday at a home in the borough.
Wilbur Lee Larkin Jr., 40, was taken into custody at a house on First Street in Donora, said Monongahela police Chief Brian Tempest.
“We received a call about 5 a.m. that Larkin was in the residence on First,” Tempest said. “We went to the residence with Donora police. A family member assisted in convincing Larkin to come out of the house.”
Anthony Lamont Green, 42, of Pittsburgh, was arrested last week in Pittsburgh on a probation detainer and arraigned Thursday before District Judge Robert Redlinger.
The two men are accused of robbing a man and a woman at home at 10 Long St. Tempest said that one of the robbers entered the home, held a pistol to the neck of a man and demanded money. The man threw $100 on the floor.
The woman went out the door of the house, but was stopped by Larkin, who pointed a pistol at her chest. When the robbers left, she went to her car and discovered that the pistol Larkin pointed at her had been stolen from the glovebox.
Larkin was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson on charges of aggravated assault, robbery, reckless endangerment, theft, conspiracy person not possess a firearm and carrying a loaded firearm. He was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond. Larkin and Green, who remains in jail on a $25,000 bond, are each scheduled to appear Wednesday in Central Court for a preliminary hearing.
