United Methodist Church in Rogersville is hosting a community dinner in Fellowship Hall from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday. The meal will include ham, macaroni and cheese, peas, applesauce, dessert and a beverage. Dinner is free, although donations are accepted. Carryout is available and everyone is welcome. Penn State Extension will be offering a Dining with Diabetes class beginning March 15 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Waynesburg Lions Club Park Community Building at East Oakview Drive in Franklin Township. The class also meets March 22, 29, April 5 and June 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dining with Diabetes is a program for adults with diabetes and their families. Classes are offered weekly for four weeks with a three-month follow-up class. Participants will learn how to prepare meals that are healthy, simple and taste good. Recipes will be demonstrated and participants will have the opportunity to taste each one. Whiteley Creek Community Church Youth and the East Franklin Grange are joining forces to hold a soup and dessert meal at the grange at 2262 Smith Creek Road in Franklin Township. The organizations will be selling sit-down or take-out soups from noon to 5 p.m., with proceeds going to both organizations. For more information, call 724-627-8555.
Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club will meet March 3 at 6 p.m. at Carmichaels Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. State police Sgt. Steve Dowlin, commander of the barracks in Franklin Township, will present a women’s safety program. All members are invited to attend.
