Police beat Feb. 26
Theft charge: Frances Irene Emph, 52, of 18 North Ave., was charged Tuesday by Canonsburg police with theft after she allegedly stole $103 from a co-worker’s purse at Towns View, 300 Barr St., on Feb. 6. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Television stolen: Tara Smith, 539 Blaine Ave., told Canonsburg police Tuesday a 32-inch television delivered to her home Feb. 15 by FedEx was stolen. She said someone signed for it.
DUI crash: Casey L. Shuba, 37, of 1148 Brush Run Road, Washington, faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after his vehicle crashed into a utility pole about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday on Country Club Road, Chartiers police said. He told police his vehicle slid on the wet road. Shuba was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for a blood test and treatment.
Fuel card used: The operator of Viper Transportation, 5903 Maple Grove Road, Robinson, told McDonald police Wednesday one of the company’s fuel cards was used to make an unauthorized purchase of almost 41 gallons of gasoline for $75.87 at a GetGo in Pittsburgh.
Tires, rims stolen: An employee of John Sisson Motors, 470 Washington Road, told South Strabane police Wednesday four tires and rims were stolen from a 2016 Nissan parked on the lot. Police were told the rims are valued at $1,200 while the tires are valued at $800.
Theft, trespass charge: Mark Maidlie, 56, of 283 Fawcett Church Road, Bridgeville, will be charged by South Strabane police with retail theft and defiant trespass after he allegedly stole an item from Walmart, Trinity Point. Police were told he was banned from all Walmarts last October.
Disorderly charges: John Woulitich, 47, of 960 Fayette St., Washington, and Melvin Anderson, 50, of 40 Bel Air Drive, Canton Township, will each be charged by Washington police with disorderly conduct stemming from a confrontation about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Circle K, 701 W. Chestnut St. An employee told police Anderson went after Woulitich with a bar stool. Woulitich then allegedly punched Anderson, causing him to drop the stool.
