Meadows pays out more than $8.5M in jackpots, sets record for 6th month
The Meadows Casino did it again last month, paying $8,510,619 in jackpots, a January record for the North Strabane Township facility.
That was the sixth month in a row The Meadows, which opened in 2007, set a jackpot record for a particular month.
The horrific winter storm the weekend of Jan. 29-30 did not prevent the casino from hitting another monthly standard, or from experiencing a 9.8 percent increase in gross revenue from slot machines play from January 2015. Slots revenue last month was $17,141,474, up from $15,899,154 a year earlier.
Sean Sullivan, vice president and general manager of The Meadows, said in a prepared statement: “The Meadows is happy to pass along winnings to our guests, while providing necessary tax dollars to the commonwealth and other local organizations.”
