The Wild Things have added a pair of 23-year-old right-handed pitchers to their roster by signing Tyler Bolton and Andrew Woeck.

A native of Greensville, N.C., Bolton (6-4, 205) was the Arizona Diamondbacks’ 33rd round draft pick in 2014 out of East Carolina University. He played two seasons in the Diamondbacks’ system and was 2-4 last year for the short-season Hillsboro Hops of the Northwest League. He was 2-4 with a 3.89 ERA in 16 games (15 starts) at Hillsboro, where one of his teammates was former Wild Things pitcher Troy Marks.

Woeck (5-10, 180) is a native of Brier, Wash., and was the Tampa Bay rays’ 31st round draft pick out of North Carolina State in 2014. He didn’t make his professional debut until last year and posted a 1-2 record and 4.79 ERA over three levels in the Rays’ system. He struck out 24 batters in 20 2/3 innings.

The Wild Things begin their 15th Frontier League season May 13 in Sauget, Ill., against the Gateway Grizzlies. The home opener is May 20 against the Lake Erie Crushers.

The Frontier League will its annual open tryout and draft April 25-26 in Normal, Ill.
