Road work scheduled next week
The state Department of Transportation announced the tentative work schedule for Greene County roads for next week.
Maintenance activities are conducted weather permitting. Motorists should drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights, Greene County Maintenance Manager Jerry Simkovic said.
• Bridge replacement work will be done on state Route 1017 in Jefferson and Cumberland townships.
• Bridge Flushing will begin on Route 19, starting north from the West Virginia state line.
• Shoulder work will be conducted on various routes in Gilmore, Jackson, Springhill, Aleppo and Freeport townships, on Interstate 79 southbound lanes at mile marker 14 and on the Waynesburg I-79 exit ramp.
• Pothole patching will be done on Route 21 in Richhill and Center townships and spray patching will be completed on various routes in Greene County.
• Side dozing, pipe flushing and shoulder work with begin on Route 2011 in Dunkard and Greene townships.
• Crack seal will be done on state Route 2003 in Perry and Whitely townships.
• Bridge repairs will begin on various routes in Greene, Morgan and Washington townships..
• Slide repairs will be conducted on state Route 3018 in Aleppo Townships.
