WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Central High School seniors Richard Sager and Evelyn White were selected by high school faculty as Waynesburg Lions Club’s students of the month for April.

Sager, the son of Emily Dunfee and Daniel Sager of Waynesburg, has a 3.833 GPA.

He is a member of the Family Career and Community Leaders of America and is a FCCLA chapter officer. He participated in Skills USA and the iron chef competition and is a member of National Honor Society.

Sager is a presidential scholar at Greene County Career and Technology Center. He received a Prudential Spirit of Community Award and a Challenge Program STEM Award. He is a state and national champion in FCCLA competition. Sager is an honor-roll student. He received an attendance award, presidential academic award and academic achievement award and was named student of the quarter.

Sager participated in community service with the historical society and with other charities and organizations. He has worked at Denny Frank’s Catering and completed jobs shadowing at Hampton Inn and Southwest Regional Medical Center.

Sager plans to attend Johnson & Wales University.

White, the daughter of Donna and Ronnie Brumley of Waynesburg, has a 4.0 GPA.

She is vice president of National Honor Society, editor-in-chief and treasurer of the school yearbook, vice president of the physics club, vice president of Green Team, treasurer of young voters’ club, treasurer of Relay for Life and secretary of SADD. White is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, debate team, Leo Club, reading team, Spanish club, student council and varsity soccer team.

White received the Rachel Carson Award and a faithful attendance award. She is an AP scholar and four-year letterman in soccer. White placed first in business calculations at a FBLA regional leadership conference and is a voting delegate at the FBLA state leadership conference.

She volunteered more than 100 hours at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home and is a preschool Spanish tutor and People to People student ambassador alumna. White is a Greene County Youth Soccer referee.

White plans to attend George Washington University and major in business, economics and public policy. She hopes to become a lawyer.
