Leonia Jean Warde, 82, of Las Vegas, Nev., went home to the Lord Thursday, February 7, 2013.

She was born October 5, 1930, in Harrisburg, but moved to Southern California when she was a young adult, where she met her husband of nearly 60 years, John.

Mrs. Warde enjoyed a successful career as an office manager with the retail store Kmart and, after 25 years, retired with her husband to Phoenix, Ariz. They moved to Las Vegas in 1996 to be closer to family and to enjoy their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her favorite pastime was playing bingo at the local casino and, win or lose, she always came home with a smile because she had a chance to sit and talk to others. She had friends wherever she went, whether to the grocery store, church or the doctor’s office. She talked to everyone so there were no strangers.

She has been a member of Shadow Hills Church since moving to Las Vegas.

Surviving are her husband, John; sister Kate; brother Ralph; and five sons, Jerry, Denis, Ron, Rick and John Jr., and their wives; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 23, Shadow Hills Church, Las Vegas.
