Driver faces charges: State police in Washington said Michael J. Kiskadden, 48, of Washington, will be charged with several traffic violations, including driving while DUI suspended, following an incident at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday. Police reported Kiskadden hit a garbage container, a utility box, several objects in front of a house, then a utility pole. He fled and was found, uninjured, at his residence, police said. Amwell and Lone Pine fire departments responded as well as Washington Ambulance & Chair Service, West Penn Power, Verizon and Marchand’s Towing.
Burglary reported: Samantha Holmes, 23, of Avella, reported a burglary at a home on Hill Street between 3 p.m. Feb. 6 and 11 a.m. Feb. 8. State police in Washington said a person or persons pulled plywood off a basement window and entered the residence, taking several clothing items before fleeing through the basement door.
Injured in accident: Alfred P. Simons, 59, of Avella, was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Route 50 at 6:29 a.m. Saturday. State police in Washington reported Simons lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. Washington Ambulance & Chair Service transported him to Washington Hospital. The extent of his injuries was unknown.
Crash leads to charges: State police in Washington reported Patrick Travis Mitro, 22, of Pittsburgh, faces charges following a one-vehicle accident at 3:13 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 70 near mile marker 23. Police said DUI charges will be filed through the office of District Justice Curtis Thompson.
One-vehicle crash: State police in Washington reported Harry Washinski, 65, of Prosperity, was transported to Washington Hospital for a blood draw following a suspected DUI accident on Route 18 at 7:55 p.m. Friday. Police said Washinski was not injured after losing control of the vehicle, which struck a fence and sheared off a utility pole before coming to rest. Washington Ambulance & Chair Service took him to the hospital.
