Rebellion dominate Charge in Lancaster
LANCASTER – Lexie Elkins homered in her first career at bat and the Pennsylvania Rebellion pounded out 16 hits in a 15-1 victory Saturday over Dallas at Lancaster’s Clipper Stadium in a NPF game.
Elkins, a Louisiana-LaFayette product who was the top pick in this year’s NPF draft, entered the game in the sixth inning and ripped a two-run homer that capped off the 15-run explosion for the Rebellion (2-2).
After taking a 1-0 lead in the second inning, the Rebellion scored seven runs in the third inning and five in the fourth.
Alexa Peterson had three hits, including a homer, driving in three runs and scoring three times for the Rebellion.
Victoria Hayward also had three hits, while Kayla Winfield tripled, Mandy Ogle scored three times and Alisa Goler and Kayla Winkfield twice each.
Miranda Kramer allowed four hits and one run in five innings to get the win, while Emma Johnson pitched two scoreless innings of relief.
Kylee Lahners homered for Dallas (1-1), while Andy Williamson took the loss for the Charge.
The Rebellion host the Scrap Yard Dogs at 8 p.m. Sunday for the opener in Washington as part of a baseball/softball doubleheader with the Wild Things.
