Mine workers to vote on tentative pact
The Bituminous Coal Operators Assn. and the United Mine Workers of America have reached a tentative labor agreement, according to an announcement Friday from Murray Energy Inc.
The contract, if ratified by UMWA members, would run from next Thursday through Dec. 31, 2021, the company said.
The vote will be conducted among BCOA workers at five West Virginia mines operated by five subsidiary companies of Murray, and with Ohio Valley Coal Co. and Ohio Valley Transloading Co.
Murray Energy is the largest underground coal mining company in the U.S.
