What were they thinking?

It is hard to comprehend the thinking of the Charleroi Area School Board following their decision to sell the old high school football stadium for $1 instead of $100,000 to another bidder, and also raise the school tax by 7 mills at the same time.

If the district needs the money badly enough to increase the tax burden on residents in a area that is so depressed, one would think that they would not give away $100,000 to a group that will produce no taxable income. The stadium is the property of taxpayers and it was given away while there was a buyer willing to pay the full price.

My only hope is that the voters will remember and remove all school board members who voted to give away taxpayer money.
