Greene County Court cases
WAYNESBURG – A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty last week before Greene County Judge Louis Dayich.
David R. Wilson, 38, of 303 E. South St., Carmichaels; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol, third or subsequent offense; driving while operating privilege suspended or revoked, a summary traffic violation; on May 9, 2015, following a one-vehicle crash, Wilson had a blood-alcohol content of 0.257 percent; sentence – 14 months to 5 years in prison, eligibility for the Recidivism Risk Reduction Incentive program will reduce his minimum to 10 ½ months; $2,150 in fines.
Daniel Wayne Ealy, 30, of 1401 W. Roy Furman Highway, Waynesburg; offenses – DUI, incapable of safe driving; driving while operating privileges suspended or revoked, two summary violations; arrested Jan. 29, he had a BAC of 0.206 percent; sentence – 5 days to 6 months in jail, $575 in fines, 60 hours of community service.
Vickie Catherine Loughery, 63, of 236 Deerhaven Drive, Wellsburg, W.Va.; offenses – DUI, incapable of safe driving; five summary violations; arrested March 15, following a one-vehicle crash, she had a BAC of 0.150 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail; $450 in fines, $1,020.50 in restitution to the state Department of Transportation.
Michael John Mikalik, 63, of 33 Nemacolin Way, Carmichaels; offenses – DUI and a summary violation; arrested Feb. 10, he had a BAC of 0.175 percent; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $625 in fines, 60 hours of community service.
Barry Keith Persichitti, 36, of 118 River St., Adah; offenses – driving after imbibing a controlled substance, seven summery violations; arrested Jan. 17, a blood test indicated he was under the influence of synthetic marijuana; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $550 in fines, 60 hours of community service.
Dean Luke Sauvageut, 55, of 2311 Eldersville Road, Follansbee, W.Va.; offenses – driving after imbibing a controlled substance, six summary violations; he was arrested July 27, 2015, after he exited his truck on Route 188 in Jefferson and the truck began rolling backwards; a blood test indicated he was under the influence of Lorazepam and Methadone; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,235 in fines.
Shyan M. Strosnider, 23, of 358 N. Moreland St., Bobtown; offense – possession of drug paraphernalia; on May 6, Strosnider was found in possession of three hypodermic needles; sentence – time served to 1 year in jail; he had been in jail from May 6 to May 26; 50 hours of community service.
Lisa Marie Hughes, 35, of 311 Parkview Knoll, Carmichaels; offenses – criminal trespass, conspiracy, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia; on June 11, 2015, Hughes drove a man to the West End Garage on Route 88 in Cumberland Township where he stole aluminum wheels; two syringes and spoons were later found in the vehicle; sentence – 5 years of probation, 100 hours of community service.
Nicole Marie Ries, 42, formerly of 175 Tin Can Hollow Road, Rices Landing; offenses – corruption of minors, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia; on Nov. 28, 2010, she offered two juveniles marijuana at a home in Crucible, a small amount of marijuana and smoking devices were found at the residence; sentence – 2 years of probation, $200 fine, 100 hours of community service; her case will be transferred to Ohio, where she now resides.
Larry Keith Gantt, 33, of 326 ½ E. Maiden St., Washington; offenses – possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, furnishing alcohol to minors; during a traffic stop Sept. 29, marijuana, scales and two containers with Oxycodone and cocaine residue were found in his vehicle, a passenger under the age of 21 also was drinking alcohol; sentence – 2 years of probation, $400 in fines, 100 hours of community service.
Erik Michael Cox, 37, of 257 Grant St., Nemacolin; offenses – fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving without a license, seven summary violations; on Nov. 16, Cox fled police on a motorcycle; sentence – 30 days to 23 ½ months in jail, credit for 23 days service; $625 in fines, 100 hours of community service.
Johnathan Adam Haines, 32, of 487 Craynes Run Road, Waynesburg; offenses – first case: retail theft, harassment and disorderly conduct; second case: escape, flight to avoid apprehension; theft, receiving stolen property; on April 3, 2015, he attempted to steal $63.21 in groceries from the Carmichaels Shop ‘n Save; on May 28, 2015, arrested on a warrant, he fled police from outside District Judge Lee Watson’s office in handcuffs and with another person’s cellphone; sentence – 30 days to 23 ½ months in jail; 100 hours of community service.
