Yester passes Mt. Pleasant past Waynesburg

Quarterback Johnny Yester completed 10 of 13 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns as Mt. Pleasant defeated visiting Waynesburg 42-14 in the Class 3-A Interstate Conference opener Friday night.

Yester helped Mt. Pleasant forge a 42-0 lead by throwing TD passes of 68 and 35 yards to Keith Calp and 28 yards to Jake Newill. Calp caught seven passes for 232 yards.

Ryan Gadagno had TD runs of four and 19 yards for the Vikings.

Waynesburg (0-1) scored in the fourth quarter on a five-yard run by Colin McCracken and an eight-yard scamper by Dylan Scritchfield. McCracken rushed for 136 yards on 18 carries.
