Carmichaels man injured in tanker truck crash
A Carmichaels man was critically injured after his tanker truck rolled over Sunday morning on Browns Creek Road in Franklin Township.
Tony P. Yeager, 44, was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled onto its side, state police said.
Police said Yeager was driving south at 9:54 a.m. when he lost control of the truck on a curve. The vehicle hit a guardrail and rolled over the embankment.
Waynesburg-Franklin Volunteer Fire Company was called to assist EMS Southwest ambulance crew in carrying Yeager up the bank to the waiting ambulance, Waynesburg fire Chief Jeff Marshall said.
Yeager was taken to the Emerald ballfield, where a medical helicopter flew him to Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. He was reported in critical condition Monday morning by a hospital spokeswoman.
The tanker was carrying fracking water, Marshall said. However, none of it leaked from the truck, he said.
The name of the trucking company for which Yeager is a driver was not disclosed in the police report.
