Couple face charges
California police arrested a Maryland man and obtained an arrest warrant for a Maryland woman following a domestic dispute Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of Vulcan Village.
Police said Khalil Dayton Stanfield, 21, of Silver Spring, Md., and Amira Beal Raziya, 21, of Elk Ridge, Md., were reportedly arguing.
Stanfield reportedly became threatening and abusive toward police and others in the area. He was taken into custody as John Doe because police were not able to identify him. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis on charges of resisting arrest, intimidation of witnesses, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was initially placed in Washington County jail without bond which was amended to $1,000 after his identity was determined. He was released Friday night.
Police confiscated a switchblade from Raziya. They learned she reportedly used it to threaten Stanfield. Police obtained a warrant for her Monday on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, having a prohibited offensive weapon, harassment, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
