Fire cause: The state police fire marshal said a fire that damaged the home of Frank and Kathy Gudel, 161 Spring St., Coal Center, Wednesday started in a dehumidifier. Police said the couple came home and discovered the fire.

Cables, tools stolen: Patrick Smith, 1047 Robinson Highway, Robinson, told McDonald police Thursday two, 50-foot weld lead cables, a set of large wrenches and a Craftsman socket set were stolen from his work truck. He told police two of the lock pads were cut from the truck. The items are valued at $1,250.

Warrant arrest: Amanda L. Kempf, whose last known address was Duncan Avenue, Washington, was arrested Friday on a warrant obtained by Washington police stemming from an April 2014 incident. She is charged with possession of paraphernalia after she was found with an empty stamp bag when police were called to her home after she reportedly overdosed on heroin. She was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. She is also is in jail on a bench warrant.
