Waynesburg comes up short in shootout at Thiel
GREENVILLE – Ryan Radke passed for three touchdowns and ran for another, DeShawon Bracy had 250 receiving yards and Thiel overcame a nine-point third-quarter deficit to beat Waynesburg 50-42 Saturday night in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference football game.
Radke completed 17 of 27 passes for 391 yards and helped Thiel fight back from a 39-30 deficit. Radke threw a 44-yard touchdown pass to Bracy that gave the Tomcats a 43-42 lead with 12:36 remaining. On Thiel’s next possession, Radke threw a 43-yard TD to Eugene Bailey.
Waynesburg quarterback Tyler Perone completed 26 of 51 passes for 401 yards and scoring passes to Ta’Vaughn Johnson (16 yards) and Kevin Barnes (17 yards). Ben Ciero had two rushing touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets covering three and 26 yards.
Waynesburg had a chance to tie late in the game but turned the ball over on downs after driving inside the Tomcats’ 10-yard line on its final possession with 3:48 remaining. Thiel then ran out the clock.
