Heroin possession: Travis Grady, 35, of 1 High Ave., was charged by Cumberland Township police with driving under the influence, three counts of possession of a controlled substance or drug device, false identification to police, and a traffic summary around 11:45 p.m. Sunday, after police found him passed out behind the steering wheel of his vehicle, which was parked at Sheetz, on State Route 88 in Carmichaels, according to the criminal complaint. Police said they found three empty stamp bags of heroin, four stamp bags containing suspected heroin, and marijuana in Grady’s vehicle. When police asked for Grady’s identification, Grady told them the identity of his 29-year-old brother, the complaint said.

Burglary: A 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and various tools were stolen from a locked garage at 2248 Smith Creek Road between 9 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, state police said. The property is owned by Mary Hopkins of Waynesburg.

Arrested on warrants: Robert Abner Cox, 29, of Mather, was arrested on several Greene County bench warrants after his vehicle was stopped for traffic violations on Route 188 at 4 p.m. Saturday, state police said. Police said Cox also was in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Theft: State police are investigating the theft of money at 113 Renner Creek Road, New Freeport, on Oct. 13. Police said the money was stolen from Eileen E. Lemasters’ purse when she exited the room in which the purse had been left.

Burglary: A Craftsman air compressor was stolen from the basement of a home at 111 First St., in Monongahela Township between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday, state police said. A basement window was broken to gain entrance to the house. The name of the victim was not disclosed by police.

Vehicle hits deer: No injuries were reported when a vehicle struck a deer at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 79, state police said. Police said the vehicle operated by Gary Hess, 34, of Waynesburg struck the deer which caused the hood to open and cover the windshield.
