Bishop Canevin scores 30 in 2nd quarter to beat Carmichaels

CARMICHAELS – Bishop Canevin scored the game’s final 44 points, including 30 in the second quarter, and the Crusaders rolled to a 44-13 victory over host Carmichaels in a non-conference high school football game between playoff-bound Class A teams Friday night.

Carmichaels (7-2) forged a 13-0 lead in the first quarter on a touchdown run by Cody Brown and an eight-yard scoring toss from Jonathan Christopher to Brennan Pelzer.

The rest of the game was dominated Bishop Canevin (7-2). The Crusaders scored a touchdown to close to within 13-7 at the end of the first quarter, then took advantage of Carmichaels turnovers in the second quarter to build a 37-13 lead at halftime.
