First Niagara to change moniker
All First Niagara bank branches will have a new name Tuesday – KeyBank.
The change is a byproduct of KeyCorp’s purchase of Buffalo, N.Y.-based First Niagara. KeyCorp, the Cleveland-based parent of KeyBank, paid $4.1 billion in a deal that closed July 29.
First Niagara branches will close at 3 p.m. Friday, Most, following the rebranding, will reopen Tuesday, the day after Columbus Day.
There are six First Niagara branches in Washington County, none in Greene. Those locations are in California, Finleyville, Houston, Monongahela, Peters Township and Washington.
It could not be determined whether the change will affect the name of First Niagara Pavilion in Hanover Township. A media representative for the pavilion did not immediately respond to telephone and email messages.
First Niagara’s online bill pay service will end at 11:59 p.m. today. Starting at 6 p.m. Friday, FirstNiagara.com, mobile banking and telephone banking will no longer be available.
All operations will be available Tuesday, following the conversion to KeyBank.
