Canon-McMillan tops Butler, finishes at .500
CANONSBURG – Bryan Milligan rushed for 212 yards and two touchdowns, Jordan Castelli passed for two scores and set the school’s single-season passing yardage record, and Canon-McMillan finished the season with a 31-17 victory over Butler in a non-conference game Friday night.
Canon-McMillan (5-5) won four of its final five games and finished the season with a non-losing record for the first time since 2008.
The Big Macs scored the game’s final 14 points after Butler (2-7) tied the score at 17-17 on a 90-yard kickoff return by Luke Michalek midway through the third quarter. A 14-yard TD pass from Castelli to Cuyler Rancher late in the quarter gave C-M the lead for good.
Castelli completed 11 of 19 passes for 169 yards. He finished the season with a school-record 1,501 yards.
Milligan opened the scoring with a nine-yard TD run and capped the win with another nine-yard scoring scamper with 2:09 remaining. Milligan finished the season with 1,160 rushing yards.
Rhamiere Knight caught a 60-yard TD pass from Castelli to give C-M a 14-3 lead in the second quarter.
