C-M rolls, makes it 2 in a row
GLENSHAW – Quarterback Jordan Castelli passed for 324 yards and four touchdowns, the Canon-McMillan defense intercepted six passes and the Big Macs cruised to a 43-7 victory over winless Shaler Saturday afternoon in a non-conference high school football game.
Castelli threw touchdown passes of seven and 62 yards to Drew Engel and 69 yards to Rahmiere Knight as the Big Macs scored the game’s first 43 points.
The win was the second in a row for Canon-McMillan (3-4). It is the Big Macs’ first two-game winning streak since they won three in a row in 2008 en route to a 6-4 season that coincidentally ended with a playoff loss to Shaler.
Canon-McMillan was in control from the start in this game. Bryan Milligan who rushed for 191 yards on 21 carries, scored the first of his three touchdowns on a three-yard run three minutes into the game. Castelli’s TD pass to Knight gave C-M a 14-0 after one quarter. Knight caught 10 passes for 210 yards as the Big Macs rolled up more than 500 yards of offense.
On the first play after Engel grabbed the second of his three interceptions, Milligan scored on an 88-yard jaunt to make it 21-0. Engel caught his first scoring pass to make it 27-0 before halftime.
Milligan’s two-yard TD run in the third quarter and Josh Byers’ 19-yard field goal kicked in the Mercy Rule at 36-0. Castelli and Engel hooked up for the second TD pass in the final minute of the third quarter to make it 43-0.
