Mon Valley Hospital to offer diabetes series
Monongahela Valley Hospital is offering a free three-part diabetes series in the Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center. All programs begin at 6 p.m.
The programs, which are part of MVH’s Innovations in Medicine Living Well Series, begin Nov. 2, when Dr. Mark Hofbauer will discuss “What Is Diabetes?” and “How Can Diabetes Affect Your Feet?”
Hofbauer is a foot and ankle specialist with the Orthopedic Group. He serves as the fellowship director of the Mon Valley Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Program, and is a member of the faculty of the West Penn Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency Program.
On Nov. 9, Karen Pritts, director of the Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology at Mon Valley Hospital, will present “How Do I Live With Diabetes?” At MVH, Pritts leads a team that helps people understand and manage their diabetes with education and support through inpatient and outpatient treatment programs.
On Nov. 16, Dr. Alexander Tal will discuss “How Is Diabetes Treated?” Tal is an endocrinologist at MVH. He specializes in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. He is board certified in endocrinology and internal medicine.
Each session is expected to last about one hour. Light refreshments will be served, and parking is free.
