Canonsburg Hospital’s 10th annual Holiday Basket Raffle is underway.

A portion of the proceeds from the two-week sale of raffle tickets will be used to renovate patient rooms, and a portion will go to the Officers’ Fund, established for the family of Canonsburg police Officer Scott Bashioum, who died at the hospital after being shot while responding to a domestic violence call in Canonsburg, and Canonsburg police Officer Jimmy Saieva and his family. Saieva was treated at Allegheny General Hospital after being shot during the same ambush that took Bashioum’s life.

This year’s basket raffle committee consists of former Canonsburg Hospital Auxiliary members as well as community and hospital volunteers. The raffle has raised $150,000 for Canonsburg Hospital over the past decade.

The hospital expects as many as 50 baskets, including baskets featuring Penguins items, designer handbags, All-Clad cookware, Sarris Candies, a Tour of Italy and a handmade rocking chair.

The holiday baskets will be displayed in the main lobby through Dec. 12. Tickets can be purchased from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Winning tickets will be drawn at 1 p.m. Dec. 12. Winners do not need to be present.
