Program to address union building trades

Donora Borough and the Mon Valley NAACP will co-host a free presentation on Careers in the Union Building Trades at 6 p.m. Nov. 16 in the Donora Borough social hall, 603 Meldon Ave.

Jason Fincke, executive director of the Builders Guild of Western Pennsylvania, will discuss job and training opportunities in the building and construction trades, and how to apply to a tuition-free joint apprenticeship training program.

Apprenticeship programs include the following: boilermakers; bricklayers, including stone masons, marble workers, pointer-caulker-cleaners, tile workers and terrazzo workers; carpenters, including heavy highway carpenters, floor coverers, mill cabinet workers, millwrights and pile drivers; cement masons and plasterers; electricians; elevator constructors; insulators; iron workers; painters, drywall finishers and glaziers; laborers; operating engineers; plumbers; roofers; sheet-metal workers; sprinkler fitters; and steamfitters.
