Concerned about touch-screen voting
Years ago, when there was talk of switching to touch-screen voting machines, I emailed my concerns to the county commissioners.
I am an accountant, which means that, among other things, I believe in proper controls. If there is an opportunity to steal money or rig an election, eventually it will be used by someone. I have always believed that after touch-screen voting, a completed paper ballot should automatically be printed. This could be checked by the voter, and if any recounts are needed, paper ballots could be used.
I am no longer certain that the way I voted is the way my vote was counted. There is no proper control to prevent someone from changing my vote.
After such a contentious election, I hope something will be done to remedy this situation.
