Rotary Club presents service awards
The Rotary Club of Washington recently presented its Avenues of Service Awards to several members of the community.
Joseph Marsh, president of Station Capital in Washington, was presented the John L.S. Northrop Vocational Service Award. The award recognizes an individual who adheres to and promotes the highest ethical standards in his or her occupation. The award includes a $1,000 grant to be given to the charity of the recipient’s choice. Marsh also is a member of the Rotary Club of Washington.
David Hart, a member of the Rotary Club of Washington, received the Andrew G. Uram International Service Award, which recognizes an individual who has provided humanitarian relief abroad or worked to promote world understanding and peace. The award includes a Paul Harris Fellow $1,000 gift to the Rotary Foundation.
Robert S. Gregg of WJPA Radio was presented the Roy R. Gillespie Community Service Award for his volunteer efforts with Pony Baseball. The award also includes a Paul Harris Fellow $1,000 gift to the Rotary Foundation.
The Avenues of Service, Rotary’s philosophical cornerstone and the foundation on which club activity is based, include club service, community service, vocational service, international service and youth service.
