2nd Lt. Andrew Irwin, son of Lew and Marcia Irwin of Peters Township, has graduated from the U.S. Army Ranger School at Fort Benning, Ga. Irwin is a 2016 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he was commissioned into the U.S. Army’s Infantry branch. Upon graduation from the Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course, he will be assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Ga. Irwin is a 2012 graduate of Peters Township High School.
U.S. Air Force Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Charles E. Landerbaugh graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. Landerbaugh is a 2013 graduate of Fort Cherry High School, and his parents are Scott and Lisa Lauderbaugh of Midway.
Marine Corps 2nd Lt. Andrew W. McCormick, son of Dr. William A. McCormick III and Ann W. McCormick of Washington, has graduated from the Joint Primary Pilot Training Course, Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi, Texas. As a member of the VT-27 Boomers training squadron, McCormick flew the T-6B Texan II turboprop aircraft for a syllabus that included precision aerobatics, instrument and visual navigation and formation flight. He will report to Naval Air Station Whiting Field, Milton, Fla., for advanced helicopter training. McCormick is a 2009 graduate of Washington High School and a 2013 graduate of Colgate University.
