Extension offers ‘Cooking for Crowds’
Penn State Extension will hold “Cooking for Crowds: A Volunteer’s Guide to Safe Food Handling” workshop from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Family Life Center at Waynesburg First Assembly of God, 4131 W. Roy Furman Highway.
Participants will learn methods for safely handling and preparing food for large groups and is geared toward nonprofit food providers, such as churches, fire companies, schools and civic groups.
Cost is $25 per person or $50 per organization for up to four participants, and $5 for each additional participant from the same group. Individuals and organizations will receive a food safety manual, posters and a food thermometer, plus a certificate of completion from Penn State Extension and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
