Small college basketball: Knetzer sparks Waynesburg women
Junior forward Addy Knetzer scored a game-high 20 points on nine-of-16 shooting to help the Waynesburg University women’s team to rebound from a slow start to defeat the Bethany Bison 72-62 in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference game.
Senior guard Kassidy O’Keefe opened the second half with a free throw and was followed by layups from sophomore guard Monica Starre and Knetzer that gave Waynesburg a 34-27 advantage after 2:15 of play.
Senior guard Katie Gehlmann continued her strong play with 15 points, 10 of which came on 10 attempts from the free throw line. It was her fourth double-digit scoring effort this year. Haley Delaney and Monica Starre contributed 10 and nine points.
Kevin Bracy-Davis scored 35 points to lead Davis & Elkins to a 79-64 victory over California Wednesday night in a non-conference game.
Cal fell to 2-5 overall while playing its first game since before Thanksgiving weekend. D&E improved to 1-6 after losing three of its last four games by a combined 10 points.
Junior forward Tony Richardson tied his career high and led the team with 17 points after going 6 of 11 from the field. He also collected a team-high eight rebounds (five offensive) while playing 22 minutes off the bench.
Fellow junior Daniel Sapp had 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Luka Andjusic finished with 11 points and five rebounds.

Calique Jones led the way with 16, followed by Andrew Williams with 13 and Antonio Rudolph and Chaice Truexwith 12 apiece.
